Support for Children and Adolescents

As an experienced pastoral lead and teacher in primary, secondary and sixth form settings, Josie understands the unique challenges facing young people today. In an era of social media, increased anxiety levels, and global pandemics, there's a growing need to focus on supporting the mental health of teenagers and young adults.

Josie offers accessible, affordable, and professional counselling support for young people, addressing the gap left by lengthy NHS waiting lists.

Safeguarding and supporting the mental health of children and adolescents is my passion. As both a teacher and counsellor, working with teenagers and young adults can be challenging but is ultimately deeply rewarding.

We are committed to providing an empathetic and safe, therapeutic environment children and young adults to explore their thoughts and feelings in a non-judgement manner freely; providing an opportunity to explore issues and consider experiences whilst developing resilience, coping mechanism and self-esteem; sessions are where a young person can take time, feel heard and vocalise their thoughts and feelings freely.

We have experience working with children and adolescents with a variety of mental health difficulties including; low mood, anxiety, emotional regulation and self-esteem. We also have experience with working with those who are neuro-diverse.

With prior agreement we can also able offer an on-site counselling provision within independent and LEA schools across Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield and Solihull.

Josie offers confidential one-to-one counselling sessions in various settings:

  • Face to face at my home practice
  • In school environments, to limit disruption to education (for younger clients)
  • Via Zoom/Teams, a secure, confidential and reliable video software platform.
